Project Objective
Chelev needed a fully functional eCommerce platform that went beyond a “standard” WooCommerce store. The goal was to create a custom shopping experience that reflected the brand’s identity while also implementing the tools and automations necessary for seamless sales, fulfillment, and future marketing campaigns.
Approach
We built a completely customized E-Commerce website, avoiding the default templates to ensure the store design aligned with Chelev’s clean, nature-inspired branding. The store was optimized for both desktop and mobile, with a focus on easy navigation and product clarity.
To ensure visibility from day one, we integrated Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Tag Manager, and Bing Webmaster Tools. We set up Google Merchant Center with the full product catalog so Chelev’s products could appear in the Google Shopping tab.
We implemented shipping gateway integration with BobGo, including automated shipping emails and full WooCommerce order status notifications. Payment guidance was provided for Payfast and Ozow integrations.
Marketing-focused features were also built in:
- Launch day coupon codes promoted on social media
- A second promotional coupon for the remainder of the month
- Automated email campaigns prompting customers to review products in exchange for a discount code
Although Meta Shops were set up via Commerce Manager, South Africa’s discontinuation of Facebook/Instagram Shops required a pivot to focus on driving traffic directly to the website through Google Shopping and Google Search.
